LAUNCH OF THE NEW ROTARY CLUB OF CALCUTTA CENTENARY
This was a unique initiative undertaken by our heritage club – the thought process was initiated by Centenary Year President Purnendu!
The objective of the new Rotary Club was to bring together working and business professionals to facilitate and foster professional growth and development of the members of the Club. The format of the meetings would be slightly different – the members would network on their professional pursuits and ventures to explore mutual synergies — after the official proceedings in an official meeting Were concluded.
The Club was initiated with an impressive count of 26 Charter Members, all of whom were from various professional backgrounds with average age below 35 years. Our swashbuckler Rtn Debashish Biswas’ networking was the reason for sourcing so many professionals and entrepreneurs!
An icing on the cake so to speak – which happened for the first time in the history of District 3291 – was the Charter being awarded to the members of the new club by Rotary International President Mark Maloney, during his goodwill visit to Rotary Club of Calcutta to celebrate the Centenary Year. A milestone indeed!
